Puppy Walks, Piercings & Pub Chats in Newport Pagnell
Saturday started slow and sweet—just how we like it. We took Bobbie, the most charming little whippet pup, for a morning stroll around the block. He’s all legs and energy, and every passerby seemed to smile as he trotted by like a runway model in fur. We wandered over to a nearby park where Bobbie could stretch out and soak up some sun, then let the day unfold from there.
Later that afternoon, we found ourselves at a local beer garden—just in time for golden hour. The light was magic, casting that warm, dreamy glow across the picnic tables and pulling long shadows from the trees. We grabbed two Fosters (a surprisingly crisp choice for the moment), and chatted with a few locals who made us feel right at home. There’s something about these little pub conversations that stick with you—a mix of humor, storytelling, and warm English charm.
On the walk back, we picked up some fish and chips from a shop that didn’t look like much from the outside… but wow. We thought we were getting two single portions, but each box was big enough to feed two grown men. Which, funny enough, is exactly what happened. We saved one portion for the next day, and while we made the rookie mistake of adding vinegar too early (hello soggy chips), frying them up in the morning with some eggs made for the most unexpectedly delicious breakfast.
That same day, Ben decided it was time to finally get his industrial piercing. It was quick, clean, and dare I say, sexy. He’s absolutely obsessed—and honestly, so am I.
Newport Pagnell in Milton Keynes really surprised us. There’s a charm to it that’s hard to explain, but so easy to feel while walking through its streets. We already can’t wait to return.
